Enhanced Model Support for Complex Architectural Designs in Forma

Our latest update of Envelope Analysis for Forma brings significant advancements to our modeling capabilities! With backend improvements, we’re excited to add support for models with internal walls — an essential step for complex layouts and intricate building designs.

Intelligent Adaptation for Diverse Floor Plans and Roof Heights

Whether your model has a unique floor plan on every level or varying roof heights, our extension is now ready to analyze these intricate configurations. This is a game-changer for models that feature distinctive footprints on each floor, cantilevered sections, or recessed facades. FenestraPro Envelope Analysis now includes upgraded processing, automatically detecting internal spaces and categorizing all surfaces into external facades or internal surfaces for a smooth, accurate analysis.

Seamless Internal Space Division and External Facade Collection

Envelope Analysis for Forma reads and interprets each model with precision, dividing it intelligently into internal spaces and collating surfaces into external facades. These updates allow for more dynamic models to be fully supported, paving the way for creative architectural solutions that were previously challenging to analyze. Additionally, this allows Envelope Analysis ‘preview’ Analytical Spaces and Surfaces as they will be interpreted in Revit… more on this later!

Looking Ahead: Future Support for Advanced Features

We’re continuously pushing boundaries. While our latest release can handle more model complexities, our team is already working on even more robust support for models with large openings, separated volumes and other complex design features in future updates of FenestraPro Envelope Analysis.
