We’re excited to introduce a powerful new update with features that make façade modelling, daylight analysis, and design iteration faster, smarter, and more accurate than ever. As you work through conceptual options, these improvements help you move seamlessly from idea to insight.

Let’s take a look at what’s new.

1.  Automatic new Façade Creation for Recesses ≥ 300 mm

Designs with recesses and step-backs can now be represented more accurately than ever. Whenever a recess is 300 mm (≈12 inches) or deeper, Envelope Analysis now automatically generates a new façade.

Why this matters

  • Captures real world geometry with less manual modelling.
  • Separate areas for different façade treatments.

2. Full Support for Rotated Proposals

Envelope Analysis now supports rotated proposals, and all façade surfaces update when recalculated to reflect the new orientations.

Why this matters

  • Quickly test solar strategies, shading impact, or WWR variations.
  • Analyse any rotation scenario without remodelling.
  • Adjust your proposal to align with your site boundaries.
  • Better design-to-performance workflows.

3. New Progress Indicator and the Ability to Stop Calculations

We’ve added a clear real time progress indicator so you can see the status as updates are applied. Even better, you can now stop the calculation at any time.

Why this matters

  • Cancel and adjust inputs immediately for a smoother workflow.
  • Great for fast iteration and version exploration.

4. Internal Walls Now Affect Daylight Results

Daylight simulations are now more realistic and spatially accurate. Envelope Analysis now recognises internal walls as daylight obstructions, making daylight factors and illuminance results better reflect how people experience a space.

Why this matters

  • More accurate early-stage daylight simulations.
  • Better insight into the impact of partitions and room layouts.
  • Supports early compliance and preliminary LEED/BREEAM aligned analysis.

5. Faster Performance: Only the Changed Façade Recalculates

We’ve re-engineered how updates propagate. Now, only the façade you change is recalculated by Envelope Analysis, not the entire model.

Why this matters

  • Dramatically faster refresh times.
  • Clean, responsive modelling experience.
  • Scale up to larger or more complex buildings without slowing down.

6. Improved Forma → Revit Export: Interior Walls Included

If you use the Forma → Revit workflow, you’ll love this upgrade: interior walls now export cleanly into Revit, keeping spatial layouts intact and reducing rework.

Why this matters

  • A smoother design hand-off from concept to BIM.
  • Reduces remodelling in Revit.
  • Preserves façade and interior relationships for accurate schedules, plans, and documentation.

What This Means for Your Workflow

With these updates, you can now:

✔ Model more realistic building envelopes
✔ Analyse more design options with less effort
✔ Iterate faster with real-time feedback
✔ Produce more reliable performance outcomes
✔ Move from massing to BIM with fewer manual steps

This release is all about accuracy, speed, and fluid design iteration and we can’t wait for you to experience of FenestraPro Envelope Analysis.
